The Role

FL97 is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Research Associate with 2-5 years of hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture and high-throughput cell-based assays. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in sterile technique, automation systems, and cell line maintenance. We are looking for someone who is adept and independent at troubleshooting experimental workflows, optimizing culture conditions, and collaborating within cross-functional teams to support innovative therapeutic development.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Build and support an operational cell culture process, including maintenance, proliferation and cryo banking. Collaborate with software team to create an end-to-end software solution for the cell culture operation system.
  • Perform optimization efforts for mammalian cell culture protocols, increasing efficiency and reproducibility across experiments.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of experimental protocols, data, and observations in electronic lab notebooks (ELNs).
  • Assist in automation of workflows using liquid handling systems to streamline cell culture processes.
  • Carry out transient and stable transfection protocols for protein expression, maintaining sterility and minimizing contamination risks.
  • Develop and execute cell-based assays (e.g., viability, cytotoxicity, proliferation) to assess the impact of various experimental conditions.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams, contributing insights to study design, process improvement, and project planning.

Qualifications:

  • BS/ MS in Biology, Biotechnology or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in mammalian cell culture operations, including iPSC maintenance and differentiation.
  • Experience with cell-based assay development, such as ELISA, fluorescence, luminescence, HTRF and AlphaLisa is desirable.
  • Experience with Python programming is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Quick learner with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative environment.
