What We Need

As a Senior IA Engineer, you will strategically drive the development and implementation of automation solutions using Intelligent Automation tools and technologies. In addition to leading a team of engineers, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, process owners, and senior management to identify automation opportunities, design complex solutions, and drive the successful delivery of projects. You will leverage your technical and leadership skills to provide oversight and direction to support the IA COE in ensuring IA tools, development efforts, and production deployments follow COE and Organizational IT standards.

Your extensive experience in Automation will be crucial in guiding the team, managing project timelines, and ensuring the scalability and effectiveness of automation solutions. Additionally, you will coordinate with cross-functional technical teams to ensure that the platform (production and multiple non-production environments) and its supporting processes are stable and available 24x7 for Automation and that the end-to-end technical processes drive long-term value to our business stakeholders.

This role is eligible for our Flex persona.

Your Day to Day

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of architects, product owners, and analysts to understand requirements and architecture to develop robust software applications.
  • Monitor the performance and health of our Intelligent Automation systems to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Work closely with developers to implement enhancements and updates to existing automation solutions.
  • Generate regular reports on system performance, issue resolution, and automation efficiency.
  • Perform key tasks in the engineering team including detailed design, interface definition, data mapping, CI/CD pipeline integration, and level-3 support as necessary.
  • Ensure that automation solutions adhere to security and compliance standards.
  • Design and develop software programs and applications to support BCBSMA business needs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing time-sensitive, complex projects, involving multiple stakeholders and/or external vendors using both traditional waterfall and agile/sprint methodologies.
  • Establish the milestones for the various sprints and releases that would be required to deliver solutions to all the prioritized requirements.
  • Experience in managing project timelines and financials along with risks, issues, decisions, and changes.
  • Mentor the team with Agile knowledge to ensure scrum and other relevant methodologies are understood and applied.

We’re Looking for:

  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Intelligent Automation platforms; relevant RPA certifications (e.g., Blueprism/UiPath Certified RPA Developer) are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in production support or operations role, preferably in an automation environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology or related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of overall software development experience.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with software programming (Java, .NET, C++, Python or equivalent), database programming (Oracle, Postgres or equivalent) using industry standards IDE tools or platforms (Salesforce, HRIS, etc.).
  • 3+ years of experience with DevSecOps, release management, & implementation tools & processes.

Salary Range: $130,500.00 - $163,680.00

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
