Position Overview:
The Controls Engineer plays a crucial role in the engineering, design, and manufacturing of equipment for all markets. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong electrical and mechanical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities. The Controls Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**) :

  • Develop, program, and maintain PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems for our equipment.
  • Utilize industry-standard platforms.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to design control systems that integrate seamlessly with our packaged equipment.
  • Integrate control systems with other equipment components, such as motors, pumps, valves, and instrumentation.
  • Ensure proper communication and data exchange between various control system elements.
  • Implement preventive maintenance routines to ensure long-term reliability and performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of control system designs, configurations, and programming code.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including application engineering, manufacturing, and quality control, to ensure the successful integration of control systems.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in controls engineering for various applications, preferably within a relevant industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles, power distribution, controls, and relevant calculations.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, UL) and regulations related to control panel design and electrical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot design-related issues.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.
