Summary
The Online Learning Experience Manager is responsible for the successful execution of Learning Innovation strategy through the assessment, design, delivery, and ongoing evaluation of self-paced, online learning experiences delivered through Alliance Safety Councils learning technology ecosystem.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position requires the supervision of learning experience developers, learning experience designers, and learning experience architects who are responsible for needs assessment, design proposals, learning experience development, and implementation of online learning experiences.

Essential Functions
1. Work closely with the Vice President of Learning Innovation and Learning Innovation leadership team to manage a large and diverse portfolio of online learning programs. As business needs dictate, this role may also work collaboratively to review emerging learning innovations and incorporate them as offerings into Alliance Safety Councils Online Learning Experience offerings.
2. Work with internal sales teams (new business and account management) to facilitate identifying the most appropriate online learning experience to meet customers requirements.
3. Hire, develop, and manage the performance of learning experience developers, designers, and architects.
4. Select and manage resources, including internal teams and third-party vendors to design, develop, and deliver online learning experiences.
5. Serve as the primary contact responsible for the quality and outcomes of online learning experiences.
6. Manage multiple projects independently, delegating project management to senior members of the team where appropriate.
7. Lead the evaluation, administration, and maintenance processes for the Alliance Safety Council Online Learning Experience portfolio.
8. Manage the technologies required to develop, manage, and deliver online learning experiences, including LMS administration, eLearning, design, and development tools.
9. Develop and optimize team processes for user-centricity and efficiency.
10. Other duties/tasks as may be assigned.

Computer Skills
Must have 10+ years of experience with learning technologies, including learning management systems, learning experience platforms, eLearning development tools, immersive learning technologies, gamification, etc.
Must be competent in the functions and best practices of administering and maintaining a learning management system, including creating and maintaining course records, fundamental reporting and analytics functions, and basic relational database concepts.
Must be competent in all functions of the standard issued Alliance Safety Council computer software.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of the Online Learning Experience Manager, the employee must be able to withstand performing typical office work, which involves extended periods of sitting at a computer station and performing computer-related work, which generally involves repetitive motion tasks on a computer keyboard and viewing multiple monitors for prolonged periods of time. The employee must also be able to regularly stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, and kneel and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

Mental Demands
While performing the duties of the Online Learning Experience Manager, the employee must be able to function in a high-pressure environment and meet stringent deadlines for completing tasks; prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously; and meet deadlines in a stressful and fast-paced environment. This employee will work regularly with a remote team both within the team and in interacting with other teams across and outside of the organization.

Work Schedule
The Online Learning Experience Manager is expected to work Monday through Friday, with flexibility to work occasionally after-hours and, on very rare occasions, on weekends, as dictated by project deadlines. A hybrid schedule may be considered for this role once onboarding is completed. Occasional overnight/domestic travel may be requested on an as-needed basis.

The Online Learning Experience Manager must be an experienced learning and development leader with a proven track record of leading a design team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience working in learning and development, with at least 5 years in progressively responsible roles, including 2 years supervising the work of others. The individual must demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including experience in negotiation and influencing others. The individual must also demonstrate outstanding project and portfolio management skills, including but not limited to prioritization, resource allocation, balancing long-term work with short-term requests, and critical thinking to solve complex problems.

The individual must demonstrate a complete understanding of adult learning theory and learning and development best practices. They must also demonstrate successful application of this knowledge with at least 5 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing online learning and development programs. The individual must also possess extensive knowledge of the range of tools used to create and implement learning programs, including but not limited to learning management systems, learning experience platforms, authoring tools, Microsoft Office 365, etc. The individual must also be able to work in a dynamic technology landscape and apply a working knowledge of technical eLearning standards such as SCORM, AICC, xAPI, etc. The candidate should also possess a working knowledge of common software development components used in eLearning, such as database management, HTML5, and APIs.

The individuals leadership experience should include a proven track record of successfully allocating resources, managing projects, staffing, developing, and growing a team of learning professionals, and leading a team through change and transformation. In addition, this individual will recommend professional development for the team, review, and coach the team on utilized and allocated time, be accountable for the quality of learning experiences produced by the team, and regularly evaluate courseeffectiveness and recommend courses of action to ensure our online learning experiences remain a user-centric, best-in-class offering.

In the Online Learning Experience Manager role, the successful candidate must be adept at facilitating initial needs assessments and other consultative meetings with internal and external customers. This position requires a consultative approach, exceptional listening and responding skills, and solid user-centered design thinking skills. The incumbent must also demonstrate a solid understanding of the Agile methodology.

This position requires a bachelors degree from a four-year college or university in adult education, training and development, human resources, or a closely related discipline. A masters degree or above is strongly preferred. This position requires ten or more years of experience in a learning & development environment, with a preference for experience with online learning technologies.
