As a Cruise Director, you will play an essential part in leading the daily onboard operation and execution of the entertainment product and services for Disney Cruise Line. You are a member of the ship Steering Committee and serve as the "General Manager" for onboard Entertainment, providing oversight for all Entertainment content including but not limited to stage shows, deck parties, port adventures, and recreation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with internal and external partners to define a clear vision for onboard Entertainment.
  2. Translate and integrate the vision into strategic operating plans focused on innovation and continuous improvement.
  3. Drive enhanced Guest and Crew experiences.
  4. Direct all Guest events and onboard entertainment.
  5. Ensure daily schedule of events onboard and ashore proceeds as scheduled.
  6. Evaluate show quality and brand integrity.
  7. Communicate safety and guest information with ship-wide announcements.
  8. Oversee execution and daily delivery of Guest service.
  9. Develop a world-class onboard Entertainment Operations team.
  10. Lead effective and decision-oriented department meetings.
  11. Support and champion safety initiatives across all entertainment lines of business.
  12. Oversee and manage financial profit and operating expenses.
  13. Partner with shore side Entertainment/Port Adventures Operations Leadership.
  14. Provide support for new itineraries.
  15. Partner with Human Resources on managing personnel files and conducting performance reviews.
  16. Partner with Marketing/Promotions for planning special events.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Minimum eight years’ experience in hosting, stage, and public speaking.
  2. Minimum of eight years’ experience in a senior leadership role.
  3. Previous ship operations experience in a role of Cruise Director or similar.
  4. Leadership experience including coaching and mentoring skills.
  5. Solid knowledge of Entertainment Operations business procedures.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Demonstrated strong negotiation, delegation, and partnering skills.
  8. Preferred college degree or related training in recreation, education, or entertainment.
