What You Will Be Doing:
The Unemployment Insurance (UI) Technical Unit is responsible for maintaining the integrity of Alaska's UI program and protecting Alaska's UI Trust Fund. The successful candidate, working as an analyst in the UI Technical Unit, will be providing the highest level of technical support and troubleshooting for the UI program in the areas of compliance, planning, analysis, training, service delivery, corrective action and evaluation of program improvements to the Assistant Director of UI, Director of Employment and Training Services, Commissioner, and UI field staff.

Alaska's UI program is dedicated to providing unemployed workers with fast and accurate payments of UI benefits. With the seasonal nature of much of the state's workforce and Alaska's vast remoteness, UI benefits serve not only to bridge the economic gap for the individual worker, but also as a stabilizing influence on local economies. The UI Technical Unit contributes to this mission by ensuring proper and timely payments to UI claimants and monitoring the program workload and quality to ensure Alaska meets federally defined performance measures.

The physical location of the office for this position is located in the Department of Labor and Workforce Development building at 3301 Eagle St. Anchorage, AK 99503. The office is behind a closed entry point located on the second floor and is shared by other UI program employees. The office environment is supportive and professional.
