The Macmillan Audio team is looking for a Podcast Marketing and Operations Assistant to join the Quick and Dirty Tips team. This position will play a vital role in growing our podcast audience as well as collaborating with the team on priority content releases and marketing initiatives. This individual will be highly efficient and organized, enjoys troubleshooting, and is comfortable with managing multiple priorities. A background in marketing or content is preferred along with an interest in podcasts and digital media. While production experience is not required, audio and video editing skills are a plus.
What You'll Do:
- Assist in QA for all Podcast episodes across QDT's network including transcript and audio proofing both pre and post production.
- Edit video versions of podcasts, including full episodes and clips for social platforms.
- Assist in publishing and distribution of video assets across platforms.
- Create visual assets for socials as well as episodic imagery.
- Vet listener emails for inclusion in future podcast episodes.
- Troubleshoot errors on the QDT website including 404s and broken links.
- Track and pull data from podcast platforms, YouTube and social platforms.
- Additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.
What You'll Bring:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort with fast-paced deadlines and an ability to be fluid with shifting priorities.
- Broad understanding of the podcast and wider media space including shows and networks, marketing channels, revenue streams, and production flows.
- Impeccable grammar.
Ideal Experience:
- Prior experience in the podcast and/or media industry (internships included).
- College degree or equivalent experience.
This is a contractor opportunity with a 6 month contract period. The assistant will be paid $20 per hour.
