This role leads our regulatory procurement, controlling, budgeting and competitive intelligence team within the Agricultural Solutions Regulatory Team (APD) for North America. They are responsible for developing/forecasting of the APD budget and coordinating with other roles within Agricultural Solutions to ensure appropriate resources are available. As a key member of the APD North American Crop Protection leadership team, you will help set direction for the function and work closely with the other leadership team members.

- Utilizing your strong business acumen, you will ensure sufficient internal and external resources are planned and available for regulatory affairs and science organizations in North America.
- Leveraging your professional background in a finance, procurement or related function, you will lead the team responsible for preparing, executing and evaluating quotations for conduct of regulatory crop protection and seed and trait studies in order to verify technical competency and financial appropriateness of studies.
- Assuring study and contract compliance with regulatory, global stewardship, and legal guidelines.
- Developing and driving procurement strategies to optimize resources and selecting contract research organizations to obtain best conditions for BASF studies.
- Successfully engaging across the organization, you will communicate BASF contracting processes to ensure BASF Corporation Procurement Guidelines are followed and understood.
- Leading and guiding regulatory competitive intelligence activities for the North American organization.
- Demonstrating your commitment to customer care, you will ensure that all of the above provide value for BASF as well as our customers in strategic markets.
If you have...
- BS with 10+ years of finance, controlling, or corporate procurement experience. MBA and/or Masters degree as well as CPA/CMA considered a plus.
- Proven ability to lead projects and/or functional teams.
- Experience forecasting and managing research budgets.
- Expert understanding of procurement processes including quotation preparation, contracting, invoicing and compliance tracking for external study providers both nationally and internationally.
- Excellent working knowledge in product or seed stewardship and/or legal requirements for regulatory science studies.
- Experience working with procurement, compliance, and controlling IT tools/programs.
