**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)
**Job Specialty:** ICU
**Job Duration:** 13 Weeks
**Shift:** 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend and holiday
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience in a large hospital, over 200 beds
**License:** ND or compact state RN License
**Certifications:**
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - must be obtained prior to start
**Must-Have:**
- EPIC experience
- Ability to titrate drips
- Willingness and ability to float to the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit (1:4 ratio) and assist in Medical-Surgical units as needed
**Job Description:**
- Manage 1-2 critically ill patients, focusing on renal and bone marrow transplant as well as oncology patients
- Manage vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropes, antiarrhythmics, and other titratable drips
- Assist with bedside procedures including rapid sequence intubation (RSI), tracheostomy, line placement, and other diagnostic tests
- Utilize equipment including:
- EPIC Electronic Medical Record
- Automated Dispensing Cabinet
- IV pumps
- Feeding pumps
- Patient Monitoring Systems
- Ventilator and BiPAP machines
- Expected to float to all critical care departments, including Intermediate ICU with a nurse-to-patient ratio of up to 4:1
- May occasionally float to Medical-Surgical units with a patient assignment of up to 3
- 18-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 for ICU and 1:4 for IMC
- Dress code: Navy Scrubs
- Required to complete 32 hours of orientation in the first week, covering various orientations in hospital, ICU, and other relevant units
