This position is hybrid in nature at the discretion of the manager typically requiring 2-3 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse facility in Rock Hill, SC located 20-minutes North of Charlotte, NC. No relocation will be provided for this position. We are able to entertain all candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future as we are unable to sponsor Visa's for this opportunity.
Your Day-to-Day:
This position is full-time located at the site. As the Project Engineering Manager, you will provide leadership to engineering project teams responsible for the replacement of BOP Components. The initial Feedwater Heater Replacement project will be a full-time long-term assignment located at the Diablo Canyon site. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide oversite and direction to a team of multi-discipline engineers
  • Interface with external and internal stakeholders on technical and resources issues.
  • Seek to understand what the customer is looking to solve and provide the right solution based on specific needs with the appropriate cost factors. Work with customers to map Westinghouse products and capabilities to customers' needs.
  • Support prioritization of engineering tasks by assessing project objectives, execution time, and implementation costs.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and collaborate with other personnel including partners.
  • Work highly independently - not only mentor engineers but also effectively lead a team of engineers in the execution of complex tasks.
  • Ensure best practices, lessons learned, & improvement are realized in project performance and margins.
  • Support the execution of training and development plans. Develop the next generation of engineers to ensure future WEC bench strength. Mentor the team to aid in their technical development, project performance and work satisfaction.
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of strong and progressively more responsible leadership experience required. Typically, 10-15 years.
  • Experience in technical project leadership role, with the ability to manage teams in challenging situations with complex tasks
  • Working knowledge of nuclear power plants, especially the nuclear power systems, technical understanding of various components, and understand the design function of components in a system (mechanical or electrical).
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent team building skills with ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
Nice-to-Have:
  • Experience in nuclear power plant modification is preferred, specifically the knowledgeable in the nuclear power industry procedure IP-ENG-001 Standard Design Process.
  • 10-15 years of required experiences.
