Position Summary:
The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) is the premier advocacy and policy organization for the world's leading innovation companies. ITI is a leading industry voice on trade and digital trade policy topics. ITI is seeking a Part-time Policy Fellow (Trade and Global Policy) to support advocacy work on topics such as market access, promoting innovation and trade-enhancing regulatory approaches around the world, and assessing global technology policies related to export controls, investment, cybersecurity, and AI. The scope of this role is global, with a particular focus on policies in the United States, the Asia-Pacific region, and the Americas. The Policy Fellow will also work closely with colleagues across the broader ITI Policy team, including with other policy and regional leads.
Your responsibilities:
  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and tech policy developments in the United States and globally pertaining to technology trade and other technology policy areas
  • Synthesize, present, and analyze information on technology policy issues and ITI efforts
  • Attend ITI committee meetings to assess member company perspectives and concerns on specific policies.
  • Assist in drafting fact sheets, position papers, letters, comments, and other written materials
  • Compile data and other information to support the ITI Policy team's work
  • Work collaboratively with ITI Policy Team colleagues to coordinate and support ITI's advocacy efforts on trade and technology policy topics
  • Attend internal and external meetings on relevant issues and produce readouts
  • Help coordinate advocacy efforts and manage the implementation of strategic projects that the team is undertaking
Your qualifications:
  • Graduate student pursuing a degree in political science, public policy, international affairs/relations, economics, technology policy (e.g., cybersecurity), relevant STEM (e.g., engineering, computer science), business, communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely about complex technology topics
  • Strong academic record with a demonstrated interest and knowledge of technology policy and international affairs issues
  • Experience conducting open-source research
  • Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of technology policy issues
  • Preferred familiarity with U.S. legislative and executive branch matters relevant to technology policy and trade
