Job SummaryThis position is responsible for overseeing assigned areas of commercial administration including but not limited to the development of customer proposals, national accounts, sales supervision, and volume, mix and margin evaluation within a particular region. This position reports to a Regional EVP.This role will be responsible for multiple locations. The ideal candidate will live a commutable distance from one of our Southwest branches including Houston, TX or Tulsa, OK.Job ResponsibilitiesSupervising an assigned regional sales team consisting of inside and outside contributors and supervisors in conjunction with regional management by providing leadership towards reaching Company objectives in productivity, quality and volume while maintaining high departmental standards of customer service and product knowledge.Regular review of the regions billing register ensuring that margin and volume expectations are met and as necessary developing and implementing improvement initiatives.Regular review of customer inventory levels with materials management and account managers to ensure control goals are met and investments protected. Resolving issues independently or collaboratively and if necessary, forcing intervention from the regional EVP to resolve issues in violation of Company policy.Assist in the purchase of special customer inventory in accordance with established policies and procedures to optimize turnover and return on salesParticipating as an active member of the senior regional in review of all areas of the regions operation to ensure Company policy procedure and financial objectives are metDevelop sales policies, goals and objectives to maximize revenues and gross margin dollars for the divisionSelect, develop and motivate employees ensuring fair and consistent treatment within applicable laws, policies and EEO guidelines to maintain the continuity of a competent workforceEstablish, implement and monitor marketing plans and strategies to maintain and increase the center's share of the market through coordination with the marketing staffContact customers and potential customers to maintain/develop an effective business relationship, target and strategicDevelop, monitor and approve the sales and expense budgetAssist in the development of pricing and credit policies to maximize return on salesDirect the preparation of sales reports and data to monitor the overall sales effort to ensure achievement of sales objectives; keep the Regional EVP informed of progress, problems and trends; and make recommendations for improving revenue and gross marginRequirementsBachelors degree from an accredited institution7 years progressive industry experience5 years supervisory experience preferredBroad experience across multiple product lines in the metals industry preferredSkills and AbilitiesExcellent communication skillsProven track record of excellence in salesExperience leading and motivating a sales teamEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
