Job Description

CoreLogic is seeking a Mid-Level Geospatial Data Scientist with a strong focus on location intelligence to enhance our real estate solutions. This role involves leveraging advanced technologies such as Python, GeoPandas, and cloud computing to transform geospatial data into actionable insights that guide product development and optimization. The successful candidate will integrate spatial data with product intelligence, driving innovation in location-based services. Ideal candidates will bring experience in consulting, business management, and research and development to improve CoreLogic's real estate solutions.


Hybrid-Remote role with 2-3 days in CoreLogic's Austin, TX or Irvine, CA offices. Role can also be 100% remote if candidate qualifications and experience are a good fit.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Data Integration and Analysis: Utilize Python, GeoPandas, and cloud computing to process and analyze large geospatial datasets. Integrate these insights with CoreLogic's property data to inform product strategies and decisions.
  2. Consulting and Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a consultant within the organization by providing expert advice on leveraging location intelligence for strategic decision-making. Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and business leaders to influence product development through data-driven insights.
  3. Predictive Modeling and Insights: Develop predictive models using machine learning techniques to forecast real estate trends and optimize location-based services. Provide actionable insights that enhance property evaluation and investment strategies.
  4. Business Management Support: Assist in aligning spatial data insights with CoreLogic's business objectives. Support business management initiatives by providing data-driven recommendations that improve operational efficiency and strategic planning.
  5. Research and Development: Engage in ongoing research activities to enhance CoreLogic's location intelligence solutions. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to keep CoreLogic at the forefront of geospatial analytics.
  6. Data Visualization and Communication: Present complex data findings through compelling visualizations using tools like Tableau or Power BI. Communicate insights effectively to stakeholders to support decision-making.

Job Qualifications

Must Have

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  2. At least 2 years of experience in data science and business consulting, preferably within the real estate or location intelligence industry.
  3. Proficiency in Python, GeoPandas, and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
  4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems and attention to detail.
  5. Excellent communication skills for conveying technical insights to non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

  1. Master’s degree in Geography, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
  2. Experience with geospatial databases such as PostGIS and DuckDB.
  3. Familiarity with real estate market dynamics and property valuation techniques.

Annual Pay Range

92,000 - 110,000 USD
