Position Summary
Events Manager
Show Me Center
Full-Time
General Description:
Responsible for performing, coordinating, and supporting the activities produced in and by the Show Me Center. Arrange staffing to support all events through recruitment, training, and scheduling. Collect, organize, and disseminate event-related information. Provide quality customer service while ensuring a safe and quality experience for patrons and clients. Work is based on a 24-hour/7-day-a-week operation and work hours will vary and may be extended.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supervise event staff directly and through subordinates during events.
  • Recruit and train part-time events staff.
  • Schedule and allocate part-time staff per departmental needs.
  • Create floor plans via CAD software programs for all events.
  • Book meeting room events, coordinate customer needs with appropriate departments, and create billing documents.
  • Advance and disseminate information related to Arena events to the appropriate departments.
  • Maintain the Show Me Center's online events calendar.
  • Coordinate and create billing documents for equipment rentals.
  • Act as Manager on Duty for assigned events.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and/or at least three years of experience in one of the following areas: Events production or management, facility operations or management, hospitality, or personnel recruitment and training.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work extended hours, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
