Senior Cloud Collaboration Services Engineer

Location: Providence, Rhode Island

The Senior Cloud Collaboration Services Engineer is a key member of a skilled team responsible for designing, administering, automating, and managing communications about cloud collaboration services for the University. These services include core offerings such as Google Workspace, Office 365, Adobe, Slack, and other SaaS applications. This position emphasizes consistency, efficiency, and a positive user experience for the Brown community.

As a member of the Cloud Collaboration Services group, this role is responsible for the administration, delivery, change management, and service ownership of these services, ensuring high reliability and useful automations and integrations. The role involves close collaboration with the supervisor and the IT Communications Manager to communicate significant service changes, coordinate documentation, and improve adoption and customer value.

Responsibilities:

  1. Administer and manage cloud collaboration services.
  2. Ensure high reliability and quality user experience.
  3. Communicate significant service changes effectively.
  4. Coordinate documentation and improve customer value.
  5. Engage with Enterprise Applications group for standards and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of endpoint or cloud computing support experience in a complex environment.
  2. Experience supporting diverse customer bases and communicating broadly.
  3. One or more cloud certifications from Google, Amazon, Slack, or Microsoft preferred.
  4. Experience with enterprise systems such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office 365/OneDrive, Slack, Zoom, and ITSM/service desk systems.
  5. Experience with web application technologies and API-based integrations.
  6. Experience developing analytics tools such as reporting engines and dashboards.
  7. Experience with scripting in environments like Powershell, Python, and/or shell.
  8. Knowledge of enterprise service management and change management practices.
  9. Strong computing, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  10. Excellent customer service and collaboration skills.
  11. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  12. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  13. Ability to multitask effectively.
  14. Demonstrated willingness to support a diverse and inclusive environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 7+ years of endpoint or cloud computing support experience.
  2. Expert knowledge of scripting tools such as Powershell, Python, and/or shell.

Successful completion of a criminal background check and education verification is required.
