The Position:

We’re seeking an exceptional campus based Financial Aid Advisor to provide student-focused support to assist and advise students and families through the financial aid process. The Financial Aid Advisor will report to the head of financial aid and have a thorough knowledge of financial aid policies and procedures, as well as the ability to explain these policies and procedures to students, prospective students and their families and or support system.


What You’ll Do:


  • Provide advice throughout the financial aid process to prospective, new and current students and their families or their support system. Must have a thorough knowledge of available types of financial aid, GAP options, VA, third-party programs and general student eligibility criteria.
  • Counsels and advises students and parents on financial aid eligibility, guidelines and available programs, including tuition, loans, verification, payment plans and third-party scholarship funding.
  • Conducts analysis on students who have been selected for verification on their Free Application for Federal Student Aid to determine and request additional information or submit corrections as applicable.
  • Complete assigned duties with a high degree of accuracy to ensure compliance while experiencing multiple interruptions.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply federal and state regulations and school policies as they relate to student finance, ensures compliance and deadlines are met.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of financial aid experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to discreetly handle confidential matters, while complying with FERPA and privacy regulations.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaborate in part of a high-performance team.
  • You live within commutable distance of Maumee, OH.
