Home to the state’s only academic medical center, the university offers world-class health care education and patient care.Reporting to the executive director of auxiliary services, the director of stadium, arena, & campus event services manages and administers the daily operations of the department (SA& CES ), which includes two large public assembly buildings, Rice-Eccles Stadium and the Jon M. Huntsman Center, the primary homes for Utah Athletics’ competitions. These competitions include, but are not limited to, Utah Football, Utah Lacrosse, Utah Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Utah Gymnastics, and Utah Volleyball. The venues host 50+ events per year and were recently announced as the site for the 2034 Winter Olympic and Paralympic opening and closing ceremonies (having successfully hosted previously in 2002). The director supervises and manages a staff of approximately 90 full- and part-time employees, including four direct reports, administers annual revenues of $7 million (with expected growth), and formulates and directs the implementation of realistic operating budgets for all SA& CES units.ResponsibilitiesClick here to view the complete position profile.Minimum QualificationsThe successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related area (or equivalency: two years of related work experience can be substituted for one year of education) plus eight years of progressively responsible experience managing and operating large event venues and complex teams. Demonstrated leadership, human relations, and effective communication skills are also required.
