Title: Accountant/Bookkeeper
Status: Part-Time, ~ 5 hrs/wk scaling to 20-25 hrs/wk during current accountant's maternity leave, then back to ~ 5 hrs/wk normally
Hourly Range: $55 - $85 per hour, commensurate with experience
Expectation: Long-term committed team member
Location: Hybrid Office in Brentwood, CA
Our client is a small family real estate development & property management company in Brentwood, CA. They are seeking a part-time bookkeeper/accountant to join their close-knit team of four.
With tenures of 8 - 25 years, they are looking for someone who has a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude since everyone at the company has a "there is no job too big or too small" mentality. They are also looking for someone that is willing to learn, grow, and become a long term committed team member.
This role will help supplement the current accountant's responsibilities with ~ 5 hours per week for most of the year. The accountant is heading into parental leave for 3-4 months this summer and the hours will flex up to 20-25 during her time away, then back to ~ 5 hours per week.
Qualifications
The Part-Time Bookkeeper/Accountant will play a critical role in supporting our boutique Real Estate Development and Property Management company.
- Management of A/R and A/P, including interaction with customers, suppliers, and tenants.
- Full cycle accounting, payroll, revenue and cost record keeping, bank deposits, monthly reconciling, etc.
- Supporting management in financial analysis, tax preparation, compliance.
Profile
We are looking for an experienced and proactive contributor who thrives in highly entrepreneurial environments. Requirements:
- Must be based in Los Angeles. On-site work in Brentwood.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP required.
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in bookkeeping/accounting.
- Previous real estate development and commercial property management experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent in MS Excel, pivot tables, QuickBooks, etc.
- Experience managing multiple books simultaneously.
- Audit experience strongly preferred.
