PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HCM Localization Product Manager to join our dynamic team. In this crucial role, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our SAP HCM solutions meet the complex legislative and policy requirements of the US and Canada, with a special focus on Payroll and Time Management processes. Based in Palo Alto, CA, you will collaborate with our global development team, assisting SAP customers in America to achieve compliance and meet their localization needs.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest changes in US and Canada HCM legislation and policies that impact SAP’s HCM solutions, specifically Payroll and Time Management processes. Translate these requirements into product requirement documents to guide our engineering team in crafting localized solutions.
- Detail requirements for use as a foundation for development backlog planning. This task will necessitate close collaboration with global development teams.
- Foster relationships with local user groups through regular engagement with customers and stakeholders at events and conferences. Deliver presentations at these gatherings to provide updates on product localization. Establish robust relationships with the SAP ecosystem (cross teams), customers, and other stakeholders, positioning yourself as a reliable advisor on SAP HCM Payroll and Time Management localization topics.
- Serve as a connection for key global customers, upholding excellent customer relations and offering local product expertise when required to support sales initiatives and customer demonstrations.
- Assist our development teams during the testing of new localizations, ensuring the quality of deliverables to our customers, and provide comprehensive guidance on localization best practices.
- Manage customer incidents, when required, offering localization knowledge to facilitate a successful resolution. Support the roll-out of localization initiatives through various channels, such as customer newsletters, demos, blogs, and webinars.
Develop and guide the product vision, establish the roadmap, and formulate the corresponding usage plan.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality products in line with customer requirements by:
- Translating customer requirements into a product backlog, including the creation, prioritization, and maintenance of backlog items.
- Delivering high-quality specifications that cater to both customer and user requirements, with an aim of creating a competitive edge.
- Collaborating with partners to integrate SAP with partner products.
- Guarantee product compliance with local legislation and policies until the defined end of the product's life cycle.
- Carry out expert tests and validate the planned and implemented scope throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Lead and contribute to the rollout plan.
- Develop market and customer insights: Stay abreast of the latest technology trends and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities for SAP.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES
- A strong background in HCM processes and tools.
- Comprehensive knowledge of US and Canadian Payroll and Time Management processes, their legislations, and local market needs.
- Familiarity with SAP Payroll for Non-Profit Organizations would be beneficial.
- A strong customer focus and a business process-driven mindset.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to take initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Team-oriented with the capacity to work with virtual and local teams.
- Creative thinking and a readiness to champion new ideas and methods.
- Proven ability to manage expectations of different stakeholder communities.
- Excellent communication and networking skills.
- Proficiency in English; fluency in French is a bonus.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience in HCM (Payroll and Time Management).
- Experience working in a multicultural environment.
- Experience working as part of a virtual team across different time zones.

Compensation Range Transparency : SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the hourly base salary rate range applicable for the posted role. The targeted range for this position is 123600 - 210100(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidates will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
