General Manager

Our Client company is one of the largest distributors and manufacturers of construction and renovation products in CEE.

The scope of the role is to replace a long-standing previous GM, coordinate local operations in Romania, and bring notable growth to the current commercial strategies and volumes.

The Romanian team consists of around 50 employees and aims to grow faster. They need a dynamic, proactive, and highly commercial individual.

Key requirements for the role:

• Strong orientation on business growth and business development. A strong iKAM background is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in all business areas (strategy, business planning, and day-to-day operations).
• Monitoring operational procedures for efficient workflow.
• Setting budgets and targets and monitoring company performance (coordinating local budgeting process in line with group business indicators).
• Planning and executing the company’s direction and growth (taking a proactive role in setting up mid and long-term company goals in line with group strategy).
• Responsible for sales targets, KPIs (financial and non-financial), P&L, and BS (balance sheet).
• Identifying new business possibilities.
• Managing staff performance (building and maintaining a local professional, highly effective, dedicated team).
• Reporting to the company’s HQ (timely submission of complete and reliable managerial information to HQ).

Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial level position (Commercial Manager/Sales Director/General Manager).
• Strong proven experience and background in the technical/building materials/decorative or construction industry.
• Commercially minded, self-motivated leader able to view the business interdisciplinary.
• Hands-on approach in handling daily operations.
• Analytical mindset based on facts and figures in the exchange of information.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build long-term relationships.
• Strong team player.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in technical studies; strong financial efficiency orientation is a plus.
