Maximus is looking for a research manager to lead a congressionally mandated study for assessing nuclear energy capabilities, trade-offs, innovations, and supply chain risks. The successful candidate will oversee the project's progress, ensuring that all research activities align with legislative requirements and scientific standards. This role involves coordinating with a diverse team of experts, managing resources efficiently, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. This position requires a strategic thinker with a detail-oriented approach, capable of driving a high-profile research initiative to successful completion.

Responsibilities

  1. Coordinating and providing general oversight of the research project including the development of research methodologies.
  2. Overseeing data collection and analysis, and ensuring the timely delivery of findings to the client.
  3. Acting as the primary liaison between the project team and the client.
  4. Leading the execution of research projects by drafting proposals, selecting methods, supervising cross-functional teams, managing budgets, and presenting findings.
  5. Conducting and overseeing literature reviews.
  6. Attending project meetings.
  7. Preparing questions for data calls and collecting data.
  8. Conducting analysis of data.
  9. Interviewing various subject matter experts (SME).
  10. Analyzing findings and summarizing results.
  11. Maintaining quality standards to preserve the integrity of data and findings.
  12. Writing reports to summarize findings and the implications of the results.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience responding to congressional queries as well as conducting studies and research.
  • Familiarity with Congressionally Directed Actions.
  • Experience working with congressional staffers or drafting legislative correspondence.
  • Per contract requirements candidates must have an active TS/SCI w CI Poly clearance.
  • Candidates must have a BA/BS degree.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience required.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong understanding of electrical power systems and related regulatory issues.
  • A degree in the field related to the study.
  • Familiarity with federal nuclear energy regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent skills in project management, teamwork, and data analysis.
  • Proven work experience as a Research Assistant or similar role.
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Knowledge of research methods.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficient in data analysis and interpretation of complex research findings.

Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Annual Base Pay Minimum for this Position: $145,000.00
