Until filled TITLE: SCHOOL COUNSELOR ELEMENTARY
Job Function: To provide a Comprehensive School Counseling Program to assist all students' develop socially, emotionally, and academically.
Line of Supervision: Reports to Building Principal and Director of Special Education
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement School Guidance Curriculum:
• Provide school counseling services to all students through classroom lessons in social emotional and academic goals including character education, bullying prevention and awareness, goal setting and decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution.
• Provide Individual Student Planning and Assistance including academic planning and support, crisis interventions.
• Monitors students' progress for the purpose of identifying issues and taking appropriate action for increasing student success.
Responsive Services
• Provide conflict resolution, consultation, collaboration with administrators, faculty and parents.
• Provides individual and small group counseling, coordinate referral services in- conjuction with school social workers.
System Support
• Provide Consultation to teachers and administrators on social/emotional student concerns.
• Serve on MTSS team.
Complete Other Duties as Assigned by the Principal
Minimum Qualifications
1. Illinois Professional Educator's License with School Counselor Endorsement.
2. Experience with elementary school children (preferred).
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CCSD168 District and the SVEA Union.
