What we're looking for:
Nexamp is looking to hire a Director, Renewable Portfolio Services. In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing the organization's independent engineer engagements that support the organization's project financial strategy. Working together with Pre-Deployment, Estimation, Deployment, Grid Integration, Capital Markets, and other organizational entities will be paramount to ensure optimized financial portfolio support and execution. This pivotal role involves working with our Capital Markets team to create and execute an independent engineer strategy that will support long-term success in project finance. The ability to engage in technical discussions with independent engineer consultants to enhance project financials is a consistent need. In addition, the ability for Clean Energy Deployment to meet debt and tax equity obligations and position the organization to create the most value possible in each engagement will be reported. The ideal candidate will help strategize and help create optimized value in counterparty negotiations, and exhibit exceptional leadership qualities, with a focus on motivating teams directly and indirectly outside their sphere of influence.
In this role, you will be hybrid out of the Boston or Chicago office. You will report to the VP, Clean Energy Deployment Operations.
What you'll do:
- Lead Clean Energy Deployment's technical advisory interactions to support the organization's financial strategy in the C&I, DG, and Utility-Scale space.
- Manage a multi-disciplinary approach to support organizational transactions for solar and storage technologies to ensure successful delivery.
- Lead independent engineer proposals and engagements supported by direct and indirect leadership of a multi-disciplined internal team to expedite enhanced productivity by process standardization.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure the successful execution of executed portfolio engagements.
- Be prepared to add capabilities to a team to expand a continuous improvement and engagement on portfolios on a rolling basis to allow for scalability whether C&I, DG, or Utility Scale projects.
- Technical Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
- 5+ years of solar and/or storage field operations at DG and/or utility-scale level.
- 5+ years of cross-functional project leadership.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in continuous process improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret project pro-formas including how technical inputs drive project financial valuations.
- Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
- Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality.
- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
- Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
- Previous experience engaging and inspiring teams to excel while focusing on the growth and well-being of team members.
