Business Development Manager - National - Commercial Roofing

Full Time / Exempt

Reports To: Vice President of Sales/Marketing

Compensation: $100 - $120K Annually plus Commissions

Location: Can be located anywhere in the USA with a willingness to travel nationally.

Job Purpose

The Business Development Manager is primarily responsible for supporting the achievement of the company’s revenue growth goals through acquisition and retention of regional and national strategic customers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the VP of Sales and Marketing to execute strategic and tactical sales plans that produce a track record of long-term profitable growth.
  • Lead local and strategic sales efforts, collaborating with individual divisions to create lead flow, estimates, proposals, and profitable projects.
  • Assist in developing and executing a go-to-market strategy for national and cross-regional accounts.
  • Meet and exceed pipeline, sales, and revenue targets by executing a strategic prospecting and sales plan.
  • Utilize data analytics and business intelligence tools for real-time decision-making to drive profitable sales growth.
  • Participate significantly in due diligence for acquisition targets as well as post-acquisition integration.
  • Manage contacts, leads, pipeline, and sales data using the company CRM tool.
  • Engage hands-on in sales and account management as needed.
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact customers and projects.
  • Evaluate various lead generation methods.
  • Set targets for strategic relationships and lead sources.
  • Develop a system for account management and tracking customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Support and abide by the values of the company.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • 4-year college degree required.
  • 5+ years in sales, preferably in a distributed service business.
  • Practical experience in generating process documentation and KPI reporting.
  • Acceptable driving record and auto insurance.
  • Preferred experience in construction and commercial sectors.

Working Conditions, Travel/Schedule Expectations, and Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed both indoors and involves the use of general technology related to office administration.
  • Regular business hours with additional hours required during certain periods.
  • Travel primarily local during the business day; some out-of-the-area and overnight travel expected.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent requirement to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision.
  • Frequent project inspection and potential exposure to ongoing construction and various weather conditions.
  • Noise level ranges from moderate to loud; potential exposure to mechanical parts, electrical equipment, fumes, or airborne particles.
  • Safety-sensitive position requiring full attention to avoid serious injury or death.
