Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems' Sector is looking for a Director of Programs 2 as the Logistics and Fabrication Solutions (LFS) Operating Unit Director and site leader at Lake Charles, LA.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for development of technology-infused aircraft maintenance and modernization, and contractor logistics business growth. Support new business activities targeting increasing scope and content on existing programs, as well as identifying new opportunities with existing and new customers.

  • Provide direct leadership to program managers, proactively strengthening the operating unit through program management standards, business systems and tools. Responsible for oversight of program financial and schedule commitments, quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Accountable for all Business Program & Financial Commitments (Awards, Sales, Profit and Cash).

  • Maintain current and actionable market-customer-pursuit intelligence that supports the business unit objectives. Provide direct leadership to Proposal/Capture managers for competitive offerings.

  • Manage operating unit priorities aligned with the strategy and prioritizing resource needs.

  • Serve as a tiered escalation level for program, customer, and operational issues across the OU.

  • Partner with functional leadership to deploy qualified resources and improve processes, tools and training to meet customer demands. Evaluate and implement program best practices.

  • Provides day-to-day people leadership of a diverse team and creates an environment that accelerates development of talent and drives continuous improvement.

  • Actively participates in employee engagement activities including team leadership.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. in STEM degree required. Will consider 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Program Management, Engineering Management and or Operations Management. Strong Program management discipline required.

  • Proven track record of developing program growth strategy and developing customer relationships, pursuit capture, and shaping requirements.

  • Requires the ability to achieve results, exceptional leadership skills, effective and timely decision making, negotiation skills, business acumen and problem-solving skills.

  • Requires knowledge and experience with implementation and execution of process standards and training focused on programs, business development, and risk management identification and mitigation.

  • People leadership experience.

  • Excellent communication skills - written and presentation development and delivery skills.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance at the TS level.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aircraft maintenance - area technical experience is desirable but not required.

  • Experience in implementing effective culture change.

  • Experience leading a site.

  • Active TS clearance.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Salary Range: $217,200 - $325,800

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
