Construction Estimator

Established Interiors General Contracting company seeking experienced Construction Estimator for current and anticipated new business volume.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Quantity Take-offs & Estimates: Prepare detailed estimates and analyses for assigned project scopes.
  • Constructability & Value Engineering: Identify design issues and propose cost-efficient alternatives.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Serve as a liaison with subcontractors and design teams.
  • Bid Preparation: Assemble bids and proposals for various contract types.
  • Contract Document Analysis: Review plans to identify missing scope items.
  • Site Analysis: Evaluate site conditions, logistics, and construction sequences for scope gaps.
  • RFIs & Scope Meetings: Manage RFIs and participate in scope reconciliation meetings.
  • Subcontractor Proposals: Review and assess subcontractor proposals to manage scope coverage.
  • Collaboration: Work with operations staff and preconstruction teams to address project requirements.
  • Supervision: Oversee and evaluate Assistant Estimators and Interns.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 9+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Knowledge of building construction methods and materials and their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances, systems, and trade practices.
  • Ability to read and have a basic understanding of general contracts, subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of accounting, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques.
  • Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
