Allegient Defense (DBA BCS Allegient) provides technically oriented services from program management to advanced systems integration and engineering. We support Government and prime system integrators with engineering and management expertise. Allegient Defense helps clients with challenging Science & Technology, Engineering Acquisition, and Program Management Mission requirements.
Allegient Defense is a leader in advanced technology research and solutions development, and we are growing quickly. We are looking to hire a Energy Management Expert for one of our federal clients.
Essential Job Functions:
- Applies principles, methods, and knowledge of specific functional areas of expertise to DHS energy requirements.
- Provides advice on complex problems which require extensive knowledge of the state of the energy industry specifically as it applies to the Federal Government.
- Direct energy assessments and audits.
- Write policy documents or studies.
- Review agency requirements and provide recommendations for new technology improvements.
- Suggest improvements of energy efficiency including better data collection methodology.
- Assist in efforts for the Department to transfer energy knowledge and the best practices in the industry to Components and develop Energy Management solutions and systems.
- Directs or assists efforts to improve efficiency for all utilities.
- Analyze and provide recommendations for strategies to improve the Department's utility costs and Greenhouse Gas emissions.
- Provide onsite analysis of current operations, equipment, and energy purchasing patterns.
- Provide support for energy efficient buildings certification programs, direct or assist energy and water program initiatives related to energy efficiency, energy assessment, design of energy solutions including alternative energy choices.
- Directs or participates in energy management programs including energy choice analysis, energy efficiency, and energy engineering requirements and evaluates energy choices including economic and technical analysis.
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years in engineering or a related field
- Familiar with DHS energy requirements
- Experience preparing technical reports, studies, and related documentation, using analytical methodologies to gain new insights and perspectives, and preparing and delivering presentation, briefings, and reports to convey findings and results
- Experience developing, leading, and conducting workshops and seminars
- Experience developing recommendations such as estimates of cost saving and environmental benefits.
