POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement value chain for raw materials, manufactured parts, and services essential for the Revamp, repair and maintenance of turbomachinery; from the quoting phase to the delivery of the good, including technical alignments, price negotiations, suppliers’ expediting to reach FOX commitments on clients’ project.

This role is to perform duties included but not limited to finding and qualifying new suppliers, request for quotations, negotiating, and purchasing products for the company to use or resell. Arrange incoming and outgoing shipments for equipment, supplies, materials, and contract services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supplier Relationship Management : Identify, assess, select and qualify suppliers based on their ability to provide high quality components and services for turbomachinery revamp, repair and spare parts. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability and efficiency in the supply chain. Monitor suppliers’ performance and engage improvement actions.
  • Procurement : Develop and implement procurement strategies to source materials, spare parts, and services required. Collaborate with internal teams to understand and meet project schedule, technical specifications and specific requirements.
  • Cost Negotiation and Management : Negotiate favorable terms and conditions, and pricing with suppliers while maintaining a focus on cost-effectiveness. Conduct regular cost analyses and implement strategies for cost optimization without compromising on quality. Develop Frame Agreements with main suppliers for strong and durable relationship.
  • Quality Assurance : Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that purchased materials and components meet the required standards for turbomachinery services. Address and resolve quality issues with suppliers promptly.
  • Supply Chain Coordination : Collaborate with the logistics and operations teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials and parts for clients’ projects. Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstock situations as required.
    • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
    • Proven experience as a Senior Buyer in the Turbomachinery environment (Turbo Compressor, Steam Turbine, Pump…) for raw materials and manufactured parts, rotating and static components such as impellers, diaphragms, shafts, rotors, inlet walls, labys, seals, blades…
    • Comprehensive knowledge of turbomachinery components, materials, and repair processes as well as material specifications (carbon steel, stainless steel…)
    • Strong negation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers
    • Familiar with ERP environment
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Analytical mindset with a focus on cost optimization and efficiency
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic services environment
    • Ability to elaborate strategy and tactics to propose Frame Agreements with major suppliers
    • Familiar with general Supply Chain Terms & Conditions as well as Incoterms
