SUMMARY: Develops and maintains revenue accountability through the management of a small group of sales professionals. Develops new prospects and interacts with existing customers to increase sales of products and/or services. Is the catalyst towards moving the maritime industry to more sustainable and solutions interiors.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Leads sales team to deliver value-added services.
  2. Acts as a liaison between field sales and operations to resolve customer issues, foster customer relations, and develop new business.
  3. Work directly with customers to develop new business, champions pricing actions, proposal development, and service contract negotiations.
  4. Subject matter expert in marine vessel design processes.
  5. Implement directives from management and responsible for advising management on issues.
  6. Maintain knowledge of current and emerging regulatory requirements.
  7. Convert technical and regulatory knowledge of the industry into a sale with multiple clients.
  8. Responsible for creating reports on existing design plans and procedures to advise on emerging sales cycles and opportunities in the market.
  9. May confer with naval architects on various projects.
  10. Responsible for developing and responding to requests for proposals with input from the technical team.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business, maritime industry, or related area; or a combination of post-high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.


EXPERIENCE: 5 - 10 years marine-related sales experience.


TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, Access, and Word.

  11. Knowledge of project management, planning and cost control management.
  12. Knowledge of purchasing, procurement, budgeting, and administrative management.
  13. Knowledge of and ability to apply the concepts, principles, and practices of project designing, scheduling, estimating, planning, and inspecting.
  14. Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of marine, mechanical and/or chemical engineering in regards to the projects assigned.
  15. Knowledge of contract negotiation and administration for commercial and government customers as well as the ability to execute contracts in compliance with corporate guidelines and government regulations.
  16. Knowledge of tugboats and the marine industry.

OTHER: Travel is required. Subject to a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check to obtain your driving history.


JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments.


WORKING CONDITIONS: Works both inside an office environment and also outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels, and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.


Position Location – Remote


Salary Range – 109,125 thru 174,600


California +14%, Colorado +3%, New York City +25%, Washington +9%


  • Pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
