The opportunity

As the Director EY Assist EAP Clinical Team, you will develop and manage the employee assistance and daily life resource and referral services for partners/principals, staff and family members in the US firm. These services are designed to enhance the well-being, job performance and work/life balance of individuals and families. These activities include but are not limited to one-on-one consults with individuals, crisis intervention and response for individuals and teams, working with clinical referrals, clinical assessments, case management and follow up for EY staff and partners. You will drive the EY Assist program marketing and communications, relevant research, as well as professional and public speaking about best practices in workplace mental health.

Your key responsibilities

  1. Selects and manages the EY Assist vendors in the development, implementation and delivery of Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and daily life resource and referral services for the firm according to vendor performance objectives.
  2. Responsible for the compliance of services with legal regulations, and consistent with firm goals and culture.
  3. Remains current regarding research and best practices related to EY Assist service areas, including: childcare and eldercare, parenting, special needs, emotional well-being, discount legal plans, addiction disorders, nutrition and wellness, and employee performance management.
  4. Possesses a high level of specialized knowledge of work/life and EAP policies, procedures and practices.
  5. Markets the services of EY Assist internally to the firm to achieve utilization levels that result in a favorable return-on-investment.
  6. Collaborates with other firm functions/departments on firm wide initiatives, such as change management, performance coaching, soft skills training, crisis management, violence prevention.
  7. Delivers clinical assessment, referral and follow-up services to individuals and families in the firm to improve job and personal adjustments and provides critical incident stress management to the organization.
  8. Serves as a national member of the firm’s Crisis Response Team.
  9. Collaborates with Benefits Team on the design of behavioral health service coverage and delivery.
  10. Manages and maintains databases, reports, records, trend analyses and survey data to provide business reports, plans, and budget cost analyses for planning purposes.
  11. Establishes goals for this function, and pursues assignments that are related to higher-level, strategic, long-term objectives.
  12. Makes decisions that impact the entire firm. Interactions with others are often aimed at negotiating and finalizing decisions.
  13. Positions at this level generally have a national scope. Decision-making authority is broad.
  14. High level of complex, conceptual problem-solving ability, a wide sphere of influence, and a broad-based network are expected.

Skills and attributes for success

  1. Extensive clinical knowledge and experience must be applied to each human dilemma presented to EY Assist.
  2. Ability to respond decisively to emergency situations, deploying the appropriate resources and guidance, often remotely, to those in the immediate location of the emergency.
  3. Expertise in at least one specialty area of behavioral health practice, such as chemical dependency, post-traumatic stress, eating disorders, gambling, depression, anxiety.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships with both internal and external resources and clients.
  5. Ability to positively and efficiently collaborate with team members and work collaboratively with others at EY.
  6. Ability to exercise sound judgment, set and manage evolving priorities, organize, implement, and administer effectively.
  7. Experience working as an EAP professional is preferred.
  8. Ability to lead a team that initiates ideas that would enhance the EAP firm offerings.
  9. Technological skills in Microsoft suite of services and minimal data analysis knowledge.
  10. Demonstrate advanced understanding of and adherence to HIPAA privacy requirements and all relevant ethical codes.
  11. Participate in weekend and holiday on-call rotation for urgent and emergency situations.
  12. Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time, occasionally with minimal notice.
  13. Possess a high level of specialized knowledge of EAP, industrial/organizational psychology and well-being.
  14. Adheres to local, state, federal laws for maintaining confidentiality.
  15. Advanced degree (MA, MSW, Ph.D.) in social work, psychology, counseling or other related field with relevant mental health experience.
  16. Minimum of 12+ years related experience in a combination of EAP and clinical (mental health, chemical dependency) role.
  17. State licensure in a mental health discipline (Examples: LPC, LAC, LMSW, LCSW, LAMFT, LMFT, PhD, PsyD).

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $221,400 to $438,400. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $265,700 to $498,200.

Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
