Role: R&D Program Manager

Location: Glasgow Scotland Hybrid WFH and onsite. Will also consider fully remote in UK, Belgium, The Netherlands, Sweden or Poland. If remote, must be willing to travel to Glasgow once per month.

Your Impact

The Program Manager will bring in new products/systems from strategic identification through commercialization and production. They will work with the engineering team to remain aligned on scope, manage risks, handle project issues, provide multi-functional communications, and lead the project team to success by using Fortive Business Systems (FBS).

Here’s where you’ll demonstrate your proficiencies:

  1. Use agile practices and scrum framework to deliver critical customer-facing, enterprise system solutions.
  2. Collaborate with multi-functional teams to deliver top-notch solutions to our global customers while building and maintaining strong working relationships across the organization.
  3. Gain a solid understanding of customer requirements and manage potential risks while controlling project timelines.
  4. Support and convey importance of project documentation.
  5. Present project status to executive leadership team.
  6. Establish project rules, standard methodologies, and budget control.
  7. Plan for the execution of quality assurance and organizational change.
  8. Actively report to PMO Director the successes, areas for improvement and programs at risk in a timely manner to ensure corrective action.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science related field
  • Extensive experience as an engineering Program Manager with a full understanding of Project Management processes across platform level programs.
  • Clear understanding of lean product development and systems development practices and lifecycles.
  • Ability to lead and work within multi-functional teams spanning multiple time zones.
  • Desire to work with a structured, process-driven, and continuous improvement organization.
  • Experience using Jira and Microsoft Suite, including MS Project.
  • Ability to produce high-quality written reports and relevant presentations.
