Data Scientist - Emerging Talent (Meraki)

Meraki is looking for a Data Scientist to join Cisco Wireless & Meraki Hardware’s JDM (Joint Development Manufacturing) Data Science Team. As a Data Scientist you will be a key partner in Meraki’s analytics ecosystem, responsible for conducting data-driven analyses that drive key decisions. You will work on high impact and visibility initiatives using award-winning data sets, and you will help shape how teams use this data to achieve their goals.

As part of this role, you will develop relationships across teams including product management, hardware development, quality, support, supply chain, and our manufacturing partners. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, an analytical mindset, excellent organizational skills, and a bias to action. EXAMPLE PROJECTS OF A DATA SCIENTIST:

1. Build and maintain datasets from the raw data ready to support statistical analysis.
2. Analyze the failure rate trends over time of our manufacturing partners. Normalizing for different products and product complexity, are failure rates decreasing? Are any of our partners better than others?
3. Investigate whether we can identify a correlation between hardware unit failure rates and any of our tracked metrics. Can we predict hardware failures and prevent them?

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. 1 to 3 years experience with SQL
2. 1 to 3 years experience working with core statistical concepts & machine learning models (e.g. correlation, causal analysis, regression analysis, survival analysis) in Python or R
3. 1 to 3 years experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
4. Ability to take initiative and work autonomously
5. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
6. Strong written and oral presentation skills. Able to communicate complex concepts to a variety of audiences.

BONUS POINTS FOR:

1. Showcased expertise in Bayesian Inference
2. Have publication in reputed international journals or open-source contributions.
