Code Red Consultants is seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager who is passionate about fire alarm systems. In this role, you will manage projects, foster client/AHJ relationships, and provide technical direction on complex fire alarm and mass notification projects.

Key Responsibilities Include:


Project Management:

  • Effective Communication: Engage with project team members, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure clear, consistent communication throughout all project phases.
  • Proposal Development & Scoping: Draft compelling proposals, develop detailed project scopes and prepare accurate project pricing, balancing technical requirements with business objectives.
  • Project Management: Take ownership of project budgets and schedules, ensuring they are managed effectively. Adapt and adjust plans as necessary to keep projects on track.
  • Contract Review: Collaborate with senior Project Managers and Team Leads to review and understand contracts, ensuring compliance and clarity.
  • Proactive Leadership: Independently plan and advance project deliverables, leveraging junior resources and peer perspectives to drive success.
  • Analytical Planning: Create comprehensive Project Charters at the start of each project and adjust them periodically based on detailed analysis of milestones versus actual performance.
  • Mentorship & Training: Provide mentorship and training to supporting staff, fostering professional growth and ensuring project success.
  • Financial Management: Utilize project-based accounting software to manage prospects, opportunities, and projects. Oversee bill reviews, invoice processing, and accounts receivable follow-ups with precision


Technical Production:

  • Deliver Technical Expertise: Independently and efficiently deliver high-quality technical deliverables in areas of specialization, ensuring minimal rework.
  • Design & Engineering: Design fire alarm and mass notification systems, and prepare technical reports, specifications, design drawings, and presentations with a focus on distinction and efficiency.
  • Mentorship & Collaboration: Mentor and collaborate with team members to enhance technical skills and ensure the success of the team.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Review design and construction submittals for compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring that all technical aspects meet the necessary standards.
  • Site Surveys & Inspections: Conduct site surveys to inspect and evaluate building features and systems, providing detailed assessments and recommendations.
  • Third-Party Reviews: Perform third-party reviews of design work products completed by others on behalf of local municipalities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality.


External Client Interface:

  • Project Leadership: Lead project execution, ensuring that all deliverables and communications align with client expectations.
  • Client Experience: Deliver projects in a manner that provides an exceptional and targeted client experience.
  • Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the main point of contact on assigned projects, managing day-to-day communication, and responding promptly to client emails and calls.
  • Meeting Contribution: Attend and contribute significantly at project meetings with contractors, owners, and authorities having jurisdiction to review design strategies and documentation.


Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection, Electrical/Mechanical/Electromechanical Engineering, Electronic/Mechanical Engineering Technology, or similar degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
  • A professional engineering license is preferred.
  • As an alternative, a NICET Fire Alarm Systems Certification will be considered.
  • 7+ years’ experience designing, programming, commissioning or inspecting fire alarm systems (or equivalent combination of education and related work experience).
  • Knowledge of relevant fire and life safety codes, regulations and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from start to finish, with a track record of delivering on time and within budget.
  • The ideal candidate will be a proactive communicator with strong technical acumen, adept at managing multiple tasks, and capable of driving projects forward independently while mentoring junior staff.
  • Experienced with AutoCAD and/or Revit.


Work Environment/Schedule: Professional office, field/project sites and remote office work. At least 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday – hybrid/flexible work schedule. Occasionally, work includes some off hours (early morning or evening) and weekend hours as required.
