Required Qualifications: Calid dental assistant certification and one year experience supervised by a West Virginia licensed dentist and X-Ray Certification. Computer proficiency also required. Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record. This is a non-exempt position that will report to the health and wellness director (HWD) co-disability coordinator. Prepares patients for dental examination and treatment, in compliance with government and management directives. Essential Duties: Assist dentist in performing services by preparing patients in chair and handling required instruments, equipment and dental plastics. Sterilize instruments and keep office stocked with required supplies. Arrange and maintain appointment schedule. Keep records of patients. Provide post-operative and oral hygiene instructions as prescribed by the dentist. Assist in taking patient Xrays. Perform limited clerical duties, utilizing knowledge of medical terminology, clinic or laboratory procedures; type correspondence, reports, etc. and operate office equipment. Interview incoming patients and record information required.
