Andrew Morgan Consulting, LLC (AMC) is looking for a Senior Strategy Consultant to join our Team! The successful candidate will work with our DHA client and project team in achieving organizational outcomes. These outcomes will improve overall efficiency, effectiveness, and performance through the analyzation and optimization of their business processes. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role. This is Hybrid position with 2-3 days per week discussing strategic challenges with senior government leaders.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Planning
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand organizational goal, mission, and objectives within the DOD/DHA financial environment.
    • Develop strategic plans for process improvement and portfolio optimization aligned with the overall vision of the government leadership.
  2. Process Analysis and Assessment
    • Conduct thorough assessments of current business processes to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
    • Use various tools and methodologies to analyze data and gather information on existing processes.
    • Leverage government and industry leading practices in Finance and Budgetary management to suggest and implement business process improvements.
  3. Project Management
    • Lead or contribute to cross-functional teams working on process improvement projects.
    • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively.
  4. Stakeholder Communication
    • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including executives, managers, and front-line employees.
    • Provide regular updates on the progress of process improvement initiatives.
  5. Recommendations and Solutions
    • Provide recommendations for improvements in processes, workflows, and procedures.
    • Identify and propose innovative solutions to address challenges and enhance efficiency.
  6. Metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
    • Define and establish measurable metrics and KPIs to track the success of process improvements.
    • Monitor and analyze data to assess the impact of changes and make further recommendations.
  7. Change Management
    • Assist in developing change management strategies to ensure smooth implementation of process improvements.
    • Work with teams to manage resistance and foster a positive attitude toward change.
  8. Documentation
    • Document current and proposed processes, creating process maps, flowcharts, and other relevant documentation.
    • Develop and maintain a repository of process-related documents.
  9. Training and Development
    • Design and deliver training programs to educate employees on new and improved processes.
    • Work with teams to ensure understanding and adherence to new procedures.
  10. Continuous Improvement
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
    • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in process improvement.
  11. Risk management
    • Identify and assess potential risks associated with process changes.
    • Develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, Advanced graduate degree (e.g. MBA, PhD, etc.) or equivalent (5+ years) work experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience and professional success at a major government consulting firm providing direct counsel to government decision makers
  • Experience working with DoD and/or DHA clients, understanding of the PPBE process, FYDP and POM a plus
  • Capability to drive an independent workstream in the context of a broader team
  • Ability to break down and solve problems through quantitative thinking and analysis
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with senior government leaders
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and create an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization
  • Comfortable with ambiguous, ever-changing environments
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of the federal government operations, program evaluation, and change management processes.
  • Demonstrated experience to assess and engage subject matter experts in addressing potential gaps or risks.
  • Knowledge of business process design, improvement, and data visualization.

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the DHA Strategic Plan
  • Project Management Professional (PMP Certification), preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma certifications (Black Belt or Green Belt).
  • Experience with PMBOK Guide and Lean Six Sigma.

Clearance

  • Ability to obtain Public Trust (DoD CAC), required
  • Current DoD Public Trust (Tier 1 investigation), preferred

Location

  • Hybrid. The primary location for work to be performed is REMOTE; however, client will require in-person meetings 2-3 days per week in Arlington, VA (Rosslyn).
