The Technology team

Our technology team builds the platforms, systems, and payment infrastructure our merchants use to process millions of transactions daily. This team is building technology solutions to simplify MENA payments regionally and globally for businesses of all sizes.

As a Tapster you will:

1. Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs using industry best practices and standards
2. Collaborate with product managers and frontend developers to translate requirements into technical solutions
3. Participate in architectural discussions and provide recommendations for system improvements and enhancements
4. Write clean, efficient, and testable code while adhering to coding standards and development guidelines
5. Perform unit testing and integration testing to ensure software quality and reliability
6. Identify and troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions
7. Collaborate with the DevOps team to deploy and monitor applications in production environments
8. Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, and propose innovative ideas to enhance our product offerings
9. Manage any technical documentation
10. Carry out other duties, as assigned based on the demands of the business and growth of the role

What you will bring to the party:

1. 6+ years of role-specific experience with strong knowledge in Fintech and/or Payments
2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
3. Solid experience in backend development and familiarity with the entire software development lifecycle
4. Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Java
5. Proficiency in Spring Boot & Microservices Architecture
6. Familiarity with web frameworks and technologies such as Django, Flask, Express.Js
7. Knowledge of REST API
8. Knowledge of databases such as SQL and NoSQL, with experience in designing structure, writing efficient queries and optimization
9. Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization technologies
10. Proficient in using version control systems, preferably Git
11. Ability to build credibility and develop client/merchant/stakeholder relationships
12. Ability to articulate support and meet client requirements

14. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead small engagements
