Salary: $95,000 to $105,000 per year, based on experience, plus a signing bonus
Terrific Development Officer position with a statewide social services nonprofit in California. The Development Officer will be an integral member of a committed, supportive and collaborative team. They will manage the full lifecycle of fundraising for a portfolio of approximately 100+ major and leadership giving donors and prospects. Their portfolio will focus on donors in the Southern California region with the capacity of giving at the $5,000+ level, including 5-figure gifts. The Development Officer will be responsible for establishing fundraising strategies and implementing effective tools for the cultivation and solicitation of donors. Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated track record of success closing gifts of similar size. Candidates should have approximately 3-5+ years of related experience. A Bachelor's degree is required. This position is remote and can be based anywhere in Southern California.
Responsibilities:
- Provide moves management to a portfolio of 100+ major gift donors and prospects capable of giving $5,000+
- Collaborate with the Development team on fundraising goals, strategies and plans
- Cultivate strong relationships with prospects and donors; design and implement successful solicitation strategies
- Research, identify and qualify new prospects capable of contributing major gifts
- Reconnect with lapsed donors to identify new fundraising streams
- Provide reporting on donors and fundraising efforts
- Travel for meetings with donors and events, as needed
Qualifications:
- Approximately 3-5+ years of relevant development experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- Demonstrated track record of closing major gifts of $5,000+; success with multi-year gifts a plus
- Strong desire to provide support to Californians in need of various services
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Ability to travel for donor meetings and events
