Menswear Apparel Designer

Founded in 2018 out of Miami, FL, Jaxson Maximus is the ultimate lifestyle brand combining a bespoke clothier and fine men's salon all in one retail concept. Building from our bespoke clothing heritage, Jaxson Maximus created our line of men’s ready-to-wear golf and athleisure apparel. 

Jaxson Maximus is seeking a visionary Technical Men’s Apparel Designer to elevate our collection to new heights and help shape the future of Jaxson Maximus.

Daily Duties:

• Create technical specs (unite and revise formulas)
• Approve lab dips, bulk fabrics, print strike-offs, and trim submits
• Approve samples by doing garment fittings. Send comments on samples to factories including addressing any fit issues
• Oversee product development process and execution of samples
• Communicate directly with overseas and domestic factories 
• Negotiate costs with factories with the help of the finance team
• Track sample submits 
• Create technical sketches/CADS and construction call outs 
• Design print repeats and trim art files 
• Creating stylized illustrations for presentation purposes, as well as, flat sketches and technical drawings for detailed construction
• Provide thoughtful and innovative products from fabric, trim and construction that meet our consumer's needs
• Research markets to identify trends, new fabric technologies and new construction techniques.
• Create seasonal color palettes and inspiration boards
• Develop new color ways and patterns for production
• Collaborates with Creative Director, Head of Finance, IT, Marketing, and Logistics for production 
• Responsible for creating and maintaining illustrator images (wireframe and colored images
• Work with factories and Creative Director to approve all design changes 

*MUST be able to create tech packs including sketch, spec, construction call outs and color ways. 

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in the fashion industry 
• Experience in menswear is preferred 
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator/Acrobat/Photoshop/Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of technical construction techniques and components used in highly functional garments.
• Experience in active wear a strong plus.
• Experience with 3D design is a strong plus
• Must be located in South Florida or willing to relocate (note: Design office is located in Oakland Park, FL North of Fort Lauderdale)
• Able to work independently and be a self-starter
