The Chicago Institute of Advanced Surgery is seeking a surgeon to join its multi-specialty surgical practice. The practice is located in downtown Chicago and consists of general surgeons with fellowship training in bariatric, foregut, colo-rectal, and hepato-biliary surgery. The practice is closely aligned with different community hospitals and healthcare systems across the greater Chicago area. In addition, the practice has longstanding contracts with different self-insured companies (i.e., United Airlines, Walgreens) and value-based providers, which have contributed to our growth in otherwise challenging times for private practice.
We are the premier private practice surgical group in the city of Chicago. The practice has a very strong academic presence locally and nationally. In addition, we have clinical appointments at a local university. Your application for clinical professorship is strongly encouraged. The Chicago Institute of Advanced Surgery is unique in having its own fully accredited fellowship in both bariatric and advanced GI MIS surgery while thriving in private practice. Starting in 2023, the Fellowship Council granted us a second fellowship position. We are also core faculty at 2 residency programs. The hospitals we cover are staffed by general surgery residents. We are involved in various FDA trials and offer an opportunity to participate in this as well.
The position includes the opportunity to grow a solid practice across the entire breadth of general surgery. We are seeking a surgeon with high confidence in general surgery, preferably with additional training in one of the various advanced fellowships such as GI/MIS surgery, HPB, or abdominal wall reconstruction. The goal is to continue our mission of providing high-level academic surgery in the community.
