Float Certified Medical Assistant/CMA - Heart & Vascular Specialists Fast-paced, high volume clinic is looking for top skilled Float CMA’s *Sign-On for Eligible New Hires * Work location: 1000 Flower Mound Road, Flower Mound, TX 75028 Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday thru Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Travel: 50% to surrounding clinics (m ileage reimbursement provided) Heart & Vascular Specialists Department Highlights:Be a part of our clinic that offers the opportunity to strengthen your skills by working with our Providers and Staff in a rewarding, educational environment.If you thrive working in a fast-paced, multi-provider clinic and can handle multiple projects simultaneously, this is the place for you!Join our team members who have strong work ethic, positive attitudes, and support each other thru collaborative teamwork.Here’s What You NeedHigh School Diploma or equivalent (required)CMA Certified Medical Assistant certification (required)One (1) year Medical Assistant experience within the last three (3) years (required)Cardiology Specialty experience (preferred)ACLS or BCLS (preferred)Have the ability to perform EKGs, draw blood, and administer injections as needed by assigned clinicAbility to effectively communicate to staff and patientsDemonstrated knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room proceduresThorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviationsDemonstrated sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situationsMaintains a positive, caring attitude towards patientsGood computer skills using a medical management applicationPossesses a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalismWhat You Will DoDelivers care to patients utilizing the Float CMA ProcessPerforms general patient care by following established standards and proceduresGreets and prepares patients for the health care providerObtains and records vital signs including, but not limited to: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problemAdministers ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administrationMay be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as well as perform routine tests such as EKG'sSchedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testingDocuments patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the providerCommunicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the providerPrepares, cleans and sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocolKeeps patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderlyEscalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s)Ensures safety checklists/quality controls are completed as requiredProvides for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rightsMay work in the front office as needed, as well as perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, more senior staff, or as requested by healthcare provider(s)Additional perks of being a Texas Health employeeBenefits include 401k, PTO, medical, dental, Paid Parental Leave, flex spending, tuition reimbursement, Student Loan Repayment Program as well as several other benefits.Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.Strong Unit Based Council (UBC).A supportive, team environment with outstanding opportunities for growth.Entity Highlights: Texas Health Physicians Group includes more than 1,000 physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants dedicated to providing quality, patient-safe care at more than 240 offices located throughout the DFW Metroplex.
