Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
The Expanded Functions Dental Assistant is responsible for providing dental care to patients in a public health setting. This position works under the supervision of a dentist and is responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Preparing patients for dental procedures
- Taking and developing dental X-rays
- Cleaning and polishing teeth
- Applying fluoride treatments
- Instructing patients on oral hygiene
- Maintaining dental records
- High school diploma or equivalent
- State or National Certified Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) or equivalent
- X-ray Certification
- At least one year of experience working in a dental setting (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- State Driver's License and clean driving record
