JOB SUMMARY
The primary function of the Body Shop Manager is the supervision of the day-to-day operations of the Body Shop with a particular emphasis on quality of work and timeliness of repairs.
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  Supervises all Body Shop employees.
2.  Oversees the accurate estimating of all Body Shop work, in terms of labor and materials.
3.  Oversight and control on workmanship and quality of repairs.
4. Establish and maintain a safety culture that meets or exceeds company safety standards and expectations..
5.  Responsible for all communications with insurance company agents and customers concerning actual and potential wreck repairs.
6.  Reviews and analyzes performance results, financial statements, and takes corrective action, when applicable.
7.  Creates and uses specific plans and programs designed to meet sales and profit targets.
8.  Organizes, trains, and develops all Body Shop employees.
9.  Coordinates and cooperates with other functional and staff managers.
10.  Maintain continuing relationship with customers to encourage referrals.
11.  Assist in preparation of final billing for completed repair work.
12.  Assists Service Manager, Service Writer, and Shop Foreman in the performance of their duties.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. High school diploma or the equivalent. Three years of experience as a heavy duty vehicle body repairer. Working knowledge of body repair methods. One year supervisory experience. Excellent communication and managerial skills. Valid Commercial Driver's License and good driving record.
WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a physically demanding position.  Will stand six to eight hours per shift.  Will lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds.  Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.  Will also work part time at a desk, operating a ten-key calculator, completing estimate forms and communicating with insurance adjusters.  Some out-of-town travel will be required.
