As the Director for the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research, you will provide programmatic leadership and direction, plan, recommend, manage and implement programs of nuclear regulatory research. You will interface with all NRC Offices and the Commission on research issues and independently propose improvements to the agency's regulatory research programs and processes. Major duties include:

Duties
As the Director for the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research, you will provide programmatic leadership and direction, plan, recommend, manage and implement programs of nuclear regulatory research. You will interface with all NRC Offices and the Commission on research issues and independently propose improvements to the agency's regulatory research programs and processes. Major duties include:
- Coordinate research activities with Program Offices.
- Recommend regulatory actions based on research results.
- Direct research activities to reduce uncertainties in high-risk areas.
- Develop technical basis for risk-informed, performance-based regulations.
- Lead collaborative research initiatives with federal agencies and international partners.
- Coordinate research activities outside the agency.
- Provide technical support and consultation to Program Offices.
- Analyze operational data and assess trends in performance.
- Implement corporate management and risk strategies.
- Develop recruitment and retention strategies for a diverse workforce.
- Manage financial resources effectively.
- Evaluate staff performance and organizational effectiveness.
Requirements

- Background investigation leading to a clearance is required for new hires.

Additional Information
