Our NORAD Operations Group

Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).

Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided:

Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space.

Mitigation of orbital conflicts.

Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities.

Operations and maintenance of classified communications.

Software development and integration.

NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at:

Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado

Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado

Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska

Vandenberg Space Force Base, California

Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world

Description of Duties:

The ISSO II supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will:

As the Vandenberg Mission Assurance Center (VMAC) Information System Security Officer (ISSO), you will perform security analysis of operational and development environments, threats, vulnerabilities, and internal interfaces to define and assess compliance with accepted industry and government standards for the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Support RMF assessments by testing systems and analyzing data to document the state of compliance with security requirements support the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes ensuring systems in the NISSC II portfolio maintain current Authorization to Operate (ATO).

Collaborate with the appropriate government customers, suppliers, and company personnel to implement protective mechanisms and to ensure understanding of and compliance with cybersecurity requirements.

The successful candidate will:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial to conduct continuous assessments of systems and network security measures identifying possible risks and provide risk prevention and mitigations.

This position will be filled and work onsite at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California

Basic Requirements:

• Clearance: Top Secret with SCI eligibility

• Minimum 2 years’ experience with DoD or USAF information security policy background (of the following branches)

• Minimum 2 experience applying RMF processes and principles in accordance with any of the following: DAAPM, CNSSI 1253, ICD-503, JSIG, and NIST SP 800 series requirements.

• Minimum 2 years of experience developing or contributing to RMF body of evidence composition, applicable artifacts, and associated control families.

• Minimum 2 years of experience performing NIST 800-53 Control Assessments for Top Secret and Special Access Program Systems.

• Minimum 2 years of experience conducting Security Impact Analysis of changes to the systems

• Minimum 2 years of experience with DoD RMF tools for recording assessment results and POA&Ms.

• IAT Level II Certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP) or a more advanced cert within the IAT level III category

Desired Requirements:

• Experience with cybersecurity policies and implementation of Risk Management Framework (RMF)

• Experience utilizing security-relevant tools such as Assured Compliance Assessment Solutions (ACAS) and Endpoint Security Solution (ESS) to analyze potential risk to the environment and provide recommended solution.

• Experience utilizing Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) tools to analyze compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) for network devices, servers, workstations, and Printers.

This position is expected to pay $115,000 - $125,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
