Responsibilities
- Daily and monthly responsibilities include data gathering and/or verification.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly general ledger balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and revenue schedules in accordance with revenue recognition guidance ASC606 and methodologies.
- This individual will be responsible for the application of U.S. generally accepted accounting standards to these items.
- The Staff Accountant will work directly with the Consulting Operations business teams and Project Managers.
- Additional responsibilities include coordination of certain billing activities and revenue calculations.
- The position will support Sr. Revenue Accountant’s with invoicing, research, and additional tasks as needed.
- The position requires operations in various financial systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred or related field and 2-3 years of experience preferably in project accounting, revenue accounting, or contract accounting.
- Experience with revenue recognition preferably in the software industry; experience with ASC 606 a plus.
- Strong computer skills: Intermediate Excel, general ledger/accounting system, ERP systems, and other Microsoft Office products.
- Preference for candidates with working knowledge of Workday and Salesforce systems.
- Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work product.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- High degree of professionalism interacting with all levels of management.
- Customer service oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Organized and flexible with the ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a demanding fast pace environment.
- Self-motivated team player.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range information provided reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
