Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Recognition:
- Oversee the accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Review and analyze contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition treatment.
- Implement and maintain revenue recognition policies and procedures.
- Prepare and review revenue-related financial statements, reports, and disclosures.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors.
- Lead and mentor 1-2 other revenue accounting team members, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and develop professional development plans for team members.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard revenue-related processes and data integrity.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations and assess their impact on revenue recognition practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the revenue accounting function.
- Implement best practices and automation solutions to enhance accuracy and productivity.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, billing, technology and legal, to ensure alignment and accuracy in revenue recognition.
- Provide support and guidance to other departments on revenue-related matters.
- CPA or equivalent certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably in the telecommunications, real estate or technology industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
- Proven experience in managing and leading a team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
