Your team’s dynamic:Genetec is a market leader and innovative technology company with a broad solutions portfolio that encompasses security, intelligence, and operations. We are looking for a Sr. Manager, North America Events to join our regional marketing team. Reporting to the Director, North America Marketing, you will take responsibility for a team of all-star event and meeting professionals who plan and execute conferences, trade shows, user groups and a Genetec Experience Center in the region. Your focus will be to showcase the Genetec brand throughout North America (USA & Canada) and impact a significant portion of the sales pipeline by driving qualified leads through to our sales organization.What your day will look like:Provide leadership, guidance, support, and mentorship to the North American events team, fostering a cohesive and collaborative team environmentImplement best practices to maximize team and event program efficiencyOversee the North American trade show and conference program including implementation of the Genetec brand strategy in regionEfficient and professional production of a high-impact, large-scale program comprising many different formats and propertiesLeverage global best practices, tools, and formats for region-specific initiativesServe as the primary point of contact between the North American Regional Event Team and Corporate Event Team based at Genetec HQ in Montreal, QuebecClosely plan, manage, and track (with your team) a significant sized budget and portfolio of partner agencies and vendorsEnsure strong cross-function collaboration with regional sales and marketing counterparts, the corporate event, technical marketing and product teams, technology partners, and other business stakeholdersManage relationships with booth contractors, suppliers, agencies, and vendorsEnsure each event includes a comprehensive leads management strategy and execute related operational procedures to ensure ROIConference destination and venue sourcing (for both external and internal events), site visits, local vendor selection, and contract negotiationsOversee planning and execution of large internal team summitsEnsure that the North American events presence supports the overall regional marketing strategy and goals, and adheres to corporate brand guidelinesResponsible for the regional Experience Center program and staff including facilities, office management, meeting and event coordinationFrequent on site event support and associated travel, including one full week per month on site at the Genetec DCXC in Arlington, VA will be requiredMore about you:10+ years marketing and events management experience8+ years team leadership/management and team building experience in a high growth business environment; experience leading remote teamsExperience showcasing high tech solutions in a tradeshow and conference environmentBackground with budget management and tracking – both the art and science of this practice are essentialKnowledgeable on implementation of brand guidelines into regional event properties and conferences, with consideration for unique elements of the local regionCommunication skills: comfortable communicating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization as well as with customers and agencies/contractorsNaturally collaborative and enjoys working with varied teams in a matrixed organizationCalm and confident demeanorStrong judgement: ability to navigate business complexity and determine best course of actionExtremely well organized and detail orientedComfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing a multi-faceted portfolio of eventsTrue passion for events, marketing, branding and lead generation. You enjoy creating in-person marketing programs that drive measurable business results in a high-tech industryFamiliar with demonstration facilities and/or program management in an Experience Center environmentProficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and CRMFamiliar with event management technology such as registration portals and lead captureBachelor’s degree in marketing, business or similarYou are a road warrior!
