Position Overview

The Senior Manager of Strategy & Transformation is responsible for leading, facilitating, and driving the strategic initiatives at SCRI. The Senior Manager will lead a team of internal consultants and/or business analysts to implement enterprise-level initiatives to increase growth, market share, customer & employee satisfaction, improve business key performance indicators, and deliver on key strategies of the organization. This requires strong analytical, influencing, and change management skills while directing multiple business areas.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Directly manage a team of Program Managers and Business Analysts leading high-impact strategic initiatives across Sarah Cannon.
  • Partner with AVP of Strategy and Transformation to facilitate senior leadership in identification, scheduling, and prioritization of strategic initiatives.
  • Introduce project management tools, templates, and techniques through active consulting and coaching to direct reports and delivery teams.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for complex enterprise deployments and manage SCRI projects of significant complexity.
  • Oversee the project management activities of direct reports to ensure excellence in managing initiatives.
  • Establish and lead high-visibility enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives.
  • Lead implementation of changes and manage impacted people through the change journey.
  • Propose recommendations, adjustments, and process improvements to achieve success.

Knowledge:

  • Change management and project management techniques and tools.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in the research environment and healthcare processes.
  • Strong working relationship with leadership for quick problem resolution and staff support.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide strategic initiatives with large change impacts.

Skills:

  • Advanced facilitation and leadership skills, including written and oral communication.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced analytic capabilities including six sigma methods and tools.
  • Computer skills with ability using Microsoft Office specifically PowerPoint, Word, Microsoft Projects, and Excel.
  • Strong people management skills to coach direct reports.

Abilities:

  • Ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders.
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively.
  • Exhibits influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Comfortable raising questions, issues, objections, and ideas at all levels of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in program management.
  • 2+ years of experience in people management.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Six Sigma Black Belt highly preferred.
