These services will be provided in the following Georgia counties: Region 1-Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Fannin, Gilmer, Gordon, Murray, Pickens, Walker; Region 2- Dawson, Lumpkin, Rabun, Towns, Union; Region 3- Douglas, Floyd, Haralson, Paulding; Region 4- Carroll, Fayette, Heard, Henry, Lamar, Pike; Region 5- Barrow, Elbert, Greene, Rockdale.

As a Family Support Counselor, you play an essential role in aiding families through various difficulties. You will offer counseling services to children and families involved in the justice system to decrease occurrences of child abuse and neglect. Your duties include performing psychosocial evaluations and providing trauma-informed cognitive behavior therapy to families impacted by domestic violence and environmental trauma. Moreover, you will deliver in-home support and behavioral services to families and offer program assistance to agency social workers. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Provide crisis intervention services for clients experiencing acute mental health crises or emotional distress.

· Offer support and guidance to clients and their families during challenging times.

· Conducts problem-solving in individual sessions to assist clients in addressing challenges (i.e., domestic violence, trauma, anger /stress management, enhanced behavior management for children/youth, grief counseling, separation issues, and enhanced methods of appropriate disciplinary techniques.

· Utilize various therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (C.B.T.), dialectical behavior therapy (D.B.T.), and psychodynamic therapy.

· Understands the fundamental values and activities of intensive case management,

· Intensive in-home counseling to maintain and stabilize a child.

· Assist in preparing for the child's return to the parent/caretaker.

· Make face-to-face contact with the family in the family at least once a week.

· Complete a family assessment to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the family unit.

· Provide substance abuse treatment.

· Help clients develop coping skills, improve self-awareness, and achieve treatment goals.

· Provide information and support to transitioning foster youth during assessment, case planning, or other permanency and transition-relate activities.

· Maintain detailed files, case logs, and weekly progress reports on each assigned family.

· Assist assigned families in improving their relationships and teaching parents how to provide better care, nutrition, hygiene, discipline, protection, instruction, and supervision.

· Help families discover and gain access to community resources that would assist them in meeting their needs, including food, housing, transportation, education, employment, respite care, etc.

Qualifications:

Must have a Doctoral Degree in the Human Services field and be licensed with one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (L.P.C.), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Must also have a Provisional Licensed or Associate Licensed Professional in the state of Georgia with Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT), Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC), and. Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).

Must have one or more years of human service experience where you assisted/provided aide/worked with children or adults. A Child Development Associate certificate (C.D.A.) Required, Bachelor's degree in Human Services field: psychology, social work, behavioral sciences, child and family studies, community mental health, counseling, human services, psychology, sociology, counseling, social work, child development, community mental health, criminal education Education preferred

· Must possess M.S. Office: Computer Skills

· Professional Verbal and Written Communication Skills

· Behavioral Intervention Skills (Required)

· Crisis Intervention Skills (Required)

· Have strong clinical, crisis management, de-escalation, and critical thinking skills

· Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia DrivDriver'sense, with a minimum of 3-year clear driving history

· Must have reliable transportation

· Must have professional liability insurance

· Must have and maintain car insurance (Limits of $100K Bodily Injury/$300K Bodily Injury Per Accident/ $100K Property Damage)

· Must complete required online training provided by UGG.
