COMPENSATION RANGE: $69,971.75 - $97,715.18

VARIABLE COMPENSATION: Up to $15,000 annually

POSITION SUMMARY: The Alcove General Manager creates a warm and welcoming environment that consistently exceeds expectations while fostering a team dedicated to planting a better community. This role oversees all aspects of the establishment, balancing operational excellence with financial acumen to drive growth. They are a versatile leader who seamlessly integrates hospitality execution and business management, while developing a vibrant team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieves guest count, PPA, revenue, and other relevant financial targets by influencing and optimizing leadership, service, and offerings by providing the highest levels of uncompromising quality of food, beverage, events, and flawlessly executed hospitality.
  • Accountable to effectively develop and manage regular budgets, forecasts, expense controls, and full P&L accurately, on time, and in alignment with organizational and operational goals.
  • Create an engaging and energetic environment where all employees work as a team to provide a warm and welcoming experience for all guests. Strong focus on coaching and development of all managers, supervisors, and frontline staff to deliver exceptional experiences worth sharing.
  • Drive guest satisfaction metrics by monitoring and improving service standards. Ensure a seamless guest experience through effective leadership and coaching, resolving issues promptly, and implementing service improvements based on guest feedback and industry best practices.
  • Implement innovative outreach strategies to increase visibility and drive guest count, supporting revenue targets.
  • Work as a floor manager during assigned shifts to support service staff and ensure the highest levels of quality and service. Visit tables and interact with guests, monitor proper door procedures, direction, and greeting; results in effective control of the flow of our guests.
  • Oversees FOH and BOH management and team members to ensure a cohesive and seamless experience for guests, including resolving issues and making service more efficient.
  • Actively participates in and contributes to ongoing team meetings to provide continuous training and development in the areas of service, suggest selling, and sales techniques for food and beverage sales, safety, security, and sanitation.
  • Model best practices in hiring, from initial screening to final selection, and oversee comprehensive onboarding programs for new team members.
  • Proactively communicates with team leaders and other members of the MadTree leadership team to share and convey information regarding the restaurant. Ensures there are no surprises.
  • Leads employee performance reviews and coaching/discipline.
  • Work closely with the Private Events leadership to ensure successful day-to-day operations of private events.
  • Resolve employee and/or guest conflict through service recovery and implement change under the direction of MadTree leadership when necessary.
  • Foster and maintain a positive relationship with community partners to facilitate smooth operations and enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Leader in continuous improvement efforts. Shares ideas and suggestions from guests, staff, and their own observations with leaders and team members.
  • Collaborate closely with People Strategy, Math, and Marketing teams to deliver key initiatives and meet business objectives.
  • Enthusiastically spends a minimum of 16 hours per year volunteering (paid) for MadTree Impact initiatives as well as leading the team with that same enthusiasm.

  • 5+ years of professional hospitality management experience.

IMPORTANT SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends (typically 50-55 hours per week).
  • Exceptional leadership ability to inspire, develop, and manage high-performing teams in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Strong financial acumen, including proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with guests, team members, and leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a warm and welcoming atmosphere that consistently exceeds guest expectations.
  • Very proficient in operational management, including the ability to optimize processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills to handle diverse challenges across restaurant, bar, and event operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial and general math concepts and proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets.
